Athrun's Purpose

Five years since the Destiny period. Five years since Gilbert Dullindal died. Five years since Lacus Clyne ruled ZAFT. Five years since Cagalli decided to hold her love to Athrun for her country and their love sake. Now, the peaceful is come. No more war, or political issue. And still, Athrun stays beside Cagalli's side as her bodyguard. Keeping his love to Cagalli alive, while they still waiting for each other to be ready to tell their love.

Then one day, Athrun asks Cagalli to come with him to his mother and father's graveyard. Although she was confused, Cagalli decide to come with Athrun. When they arrived, they pray for a while. When the sunset comes, Athrun suddenly look at Cagalli eyes deeply as he said
"I'm sure you're confused, why we are here. It's because I need their blessings."
Then, Athrun give Cagalli a beautiful marriage ring. Then he kneel in front of Cagalli
"Will you marry me?" He said
Cagalli doesn't say anything, she only smile. But slowly, she nod.
"I've been waiting for this for a long time." she said
Then, Athrun stand up, and gently kiss her.

They're celebrating their marriage at Orb. Kira and Lacus are there to. They don't stop to wish that happy couple a happy live.
Then, Athrun and Cagalli live happily ever after.
